Activities to celebrate the Amazigh New Year, January 2975/2025
In the year two thousand and twenty-five, on January 16, at the Orange Hotel in the wilaya of Chlef, and on the occasion of the celebration of the Amazigh year, January 2975/2025, the Director of Tourism and Handicrafts, in coordination with the craftswoman Farah Sharifa, two components accredited by the National Chamber of Traditional Crafts, supervised the organization of a traditional pastries and cooking competition, under the slogan “The heritage of our ancestors, the heritage of our children” for the benefit of craftswomen from various states of the country, such as “Chlef, Ain-defla, Telemcen.

Welcome speech by the Director of Tourism and Handicrafts of Wilaya Chlef:
After welcoming all the participants, as well as the organizers of the traditional sweets and traditional cuisine competition, the Director praised the importance of celebrating the Amazigh Year, January 2975/2025, which expresses the depth of our connection with our roots and our deep-rooted national identity, and embodies the spirit of authenticity that is in harmony with our ancient values and traditions.
He also stressed that the January celebration is not just a memory, but rather a window into our common history and rich cultural heritage passed down from generation to generation, and is a symbol of the unity of the Algerian people and their pride in their diversity. He also stressed the importance of these competitions that highlight the beauty and authenticity of traditional cuisine, which contributes to promoting the traditional industry and crafts sector and protecting traditional cultural heritage in the State of Chlef, as well as increasing the encouragement and support of the groups concerned.
The speech was then delivered by Mrs. Farah Sharifa Makona Makunin, the organizer of this event, who praised the excellence and creativity demonstrated by the participants through the dishes presented in this competition.

EVALUATION OF THE COMPETITION DISHES AND ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE WINNERS:
The jury members evaluated the participants by tasting the various traditional dishes offered, including sweets, cooking and cake design. They received ideas and clarifications that would improve their cooking, each in their own field.
ANNOUNCEMENT AND TRIBUTE TO THE WINNERS:
