Participation in the International Forum on Biodiversity at Hassiba Ben Bouali University 2025
In the year two thousand and twenty-five, on May nineteen (19/05/2025), the Directorate of Tourism and Handicrafts of the Wilaya of Chlef, represented by its Director, Mr. Rachid Ben Douda, and the executives of the Directorate, participated in the first international forum on biological diversity, May 22 of each year, on the date: May 19-20-21, 2025.
Organized by the College of Natural and Life Sciences in cooperation with:
- Local laboratory of natural bioresources.

Crop production and protection laboratory of the Wilaya of Chlef.

Forestry Directorate of the Wilaya of Chlef.

The Directorate of Tourism and Handicrafts, represented by its Director, Mr. Rachid Ben Douda, and with the participation of an elite group of professors and researchers from inside and outside Algeria.
The event will be held at Hassiba Ben Bouali University, Ouled Fares University Campus, on the occasion of Student Day celebrations.
Forum proceedings:
- To welcome participating delegations from different regions of the country and abroad.
- After reciting verses from the Holy Quran and the Algerian national anthem, the organizing committee thanked and welcomed the participants. Immediately afterward, an opening speech was delivered to the participants by the forum leader, and a special address was delivered to the participants on the forum’s theme.
- A word from the Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences.
- A word from a representative of the local natural bioresources laboratory.
- Speech by a representative of the Plant Production and Protection Laboratory of the Chlef region.
- Speech by a representative of the Forestry Department of the Wilaya of Chlef.
- Speech by the Director of Tourism and Crafts of the Wilaya of Chlef.

Then, various interventions were launched, including the intervention of the Directorate of Tourism and Crafts of the wilaya of Chlef, represented by its Director, Mr. Rachid Ben Douda, via PowerPoint, under the title:
“Plant diversity as a lever for sustainable tourism development in the Wilaya of Chlef – from environmental enhancement to tourism promotion”
In which he addressed:
- The importance of integrating plant resources into tourism projects.
Highlighting ecotourism trails as a sustainable development resource. - Promote natural sites as environmentally friendly tourist destinations.
9- Directorate also participated in a craft exhibition alongside the forum.
The forum concluded with a tribute to the participants.
